Dear Colleague,
During my more than 25 years as a learning specialist working with children and adults with learning differences, difficulties, and disabilities, I have developed a number of alternative instructional techniques, learning tools, and educational materials. At my core, I am a clinician and a teacher, not a researcher, but as you know, educators are looking for materials and methods that are evidence based. Although I have a great deal of anecdotal evidence from teachers all over the country who have used my materials and techniques, I do not have scientific studies that demonstrate their efficacy. If you or your students are interested in designing and conducting studies using my materials and methods, I am willing to provide the resources and training necessary. Furthermore, I am willing to entertain studies of any size, because even studies performed with a limited number of students will contribute to the larger picture of what materials and techniques are successful with children and adults who learn differently.
Please visit my website catalog to learn more about my work, techniques, and materials. Please contact me to discuss how you or your students can participate in exploring how my techniques and materials work with individuals who learn differently. If you are not interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, or this is not your area of expertise, please forward the name and contact information of others who may be interested in this project.
Thank you for your attention in this matter. I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Richard Cooper, Ph.D.
Director/Learning Specialist
