This week one of my
students complained that she could not remember how to spell the
word achievement.
She said that she could remember the first three letters ach
and the suffix ment.
It is the letters in the middle of this word that cause her
problems.

| The Mnemonic |
|
The technique that can be used to remember the
spelling of the word achievement is small words in words.
The words achievement, achieve, achieved all
contain two small words I and Eve.
The mnemonic clue involves associating these words with the
words achievement, achieve, achieved.
The person can remember the statement I plan
to make a significant achievement and Eve
plans to do the same.
